It’s still a common struggle that many people face when trying to develop a presence online. People, unfortunately, are set on making money and forget that there are a few things that are needed before you can get to that stage. One of the most important steps you should do before even thinking about developing an income is focus on the content that you create. The content is what’s going to drive traffic to your website. Without any traffic flowing regularly to your blog it’s going to be extremely difficult to generate revenue from that traffic. It’s quite simple- The more traffic you have, the more money you make.
I constantly have to remind people that they need to focus more on the content. The problem with this is that a majority of bloggers think of the Internet as a way to get rich quick. Once they figure out that it isn’t they give up, which is the biggest mistake they can make. You see, I have numerous blogs, all generating small amounts of money that add up to one large substantial income. This didn’t happen over night. In fact, I’ve been working at this for over two years and have still not met my goals.
There are a few ways in which you can make content more attractive to your readers. With that said, it’s important that you develop your own style of writing. This is because readers want their information given to them truthfully and not fraudulently through sales pitches. What you say to your readers needs to be honest and right from the heart. If you aren’t doing this you need to rethink what your goal is with blogging.
Another thing that I find increases the readership of not only a single post, but the blog itself is by speaking in first person. Speaking in a first person format means that you’re talking about yourself, moreover, you’re talking about your own personal experiences and thoughts about a particular subject. This can be especially useful when you’re promoting an affiliate product. Blog readers want to know your experiences with a product before they spend their money. They’re not going to spend money on something that has poor reviews. Speaking in first person will let the readers know that you’re speaking from your own experiences with the product and not simply explaining what the product is about.
Making your articles and posts more popular with your readers also requires professionalism. It really turns off readers when they have to figure out what you’re trying to say because of your constant misspellings and confusing grammar. One of the things that I really frown upon is the fact that people neglect to use spell check. Attractive articles need to be well developed with standard essay formats, correct spelling and grammar, and organized paragraphs. Without this you run the risk of losing readers and subscribers.
Also, lately I’ve noticed that post length makes a huge impact on weather a reader will decide on reading a post. I personally try to keep articles over 300 words long. Any shorter, the reader will potentially feel that you’re wasting their time. However, it’s important to know that the quality of the post is always more important than the length. If you have a well structured article it will probably get more attention in comparison to a long confusing post.
In conclusion, in order to get loyal readers you’re going to have to give them a reason to return. A great way to decide if your website is attractive enough is by asking yourself whether you’d read your own posts. Some bloggers also try to promote incentives. This may work depending on what type of audience you have. All in all, make sure that your content is well developed and well designed. It can take a few days, couple months, or even a few years for your readers to catch on. Just keep at it and don’t give up.
